Joan is an experienced litigator having practiced law in California for more than ten years. In that time, she has represented a wide spectrum of clients with dedication and zeal including large corporations, insurance companies, small businesses, and individuals.
Joan began her legal career in the Bay Area working for litigation firms in San Francisco and San Jose. Her practice focused on business, product liability, employment and personal injury cases. She has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation particularly in discovery, motions and trial procedures. After living and working in Idaho for several years where she worked primarily on business and real estate matters, she returned to the Bay Area and joined the Hansen Law Firm, P.C. in 2015.
It is important to Joan to understand a client’s objectives and tailor a legal strategy to fit the scope of the matter and meet the client’s needs. She recognizes that solutions to legal issues involve more than just litigation or trial: motions to dismiss, mediation/arbitration, summary judgment or early settlement are all viable means to resolve a problem. However, if a legal dispute can only be resolved through a bench or jury trial, Joan has the experience and knowledge to handle the matter through resolution.
Legal issues can be stressful and time consuming for a business or individual. Joan realizes this and brings a personal touch and commitment to client service with timely responsiveness and efficiency. She strives to make every client feel well-served and special.
Joan received her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara with highest honors completing a double major in Business Economics and Political Science. Thereafter, she attended the University of California at Los Angeles from which she earned her Juris Doctorate. She is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit, and all California District Courts.
In addition to being passionate about the law, Joan is also dedicated to contributing to her community. She is an active volunteer assisting local schools and youth sports organizations.
